1959 Thunderbird

This was one of three pre-unit Triumphs that were found in a backyard here in San Diego. They were literally buried in a pile of Ford Model A fenders and leaves for decades. It had all of the original sheetmetal (which I removed and promptly ebayed!) and was very correct, but weathered. This bike went to Bill in New York. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on this one.

  1. No significant progress to speak of. I took the head off and found loads of turds and sludge as well as seized pistons. It's currently soaking in penetrating oil.

  2. Try Gibbs- I've had motors that sat locked up for years, and they broke free after soaking for a few days in Gibbs.
